Proverbs 4:23 states, “Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Did You Realize That:
The heart’s main responsibility is to maintain the flow of blood throughout the circulatory system by supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing carbon dioxide and other wastes. So in essence, we can say that the “heart” is the main causeway of human existence and this is why we as women must guard it at all costs from stressors of every sort. Whether it be negative people, jobs, those who have differing foundational and ethical beliefs, toxic environments, bad choices, and poor nutrition. We, that is me and you or WENU must do our due diligence as black women and circumvent our hearts from being tainted, unhealthy, or damaged beyond repair.
According to information found online at The Heart Foundation, “in the US someone has a heart attack every 40 seconds, and every 60 seconds more than one person in the US dies from a heart disease-related event.”
-
Nearly half of all African American men and women have some form of heart disease and is the leading cause of death in women (varied ethnicities)
-
Heart disease costs the US 200 Billion / yr in medical, medications, and lost productivity
-
90% of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease or stroke

ADVICE FROM AN INSPIRATIONAL BLACK WOMAN LEADER
“[Don’t] let anyone convince you that your dream, your vision to be an entrepreneur, is something that you shouldn’t do. What often happens is that people who are well-meaning, who really care for us, are afraid for us and talk us out of it.”

A Stocking for Jesus we celebrate each Christmas
Jesus Christ’s great birth, we remember the gift He is to us
And that our souls have worth. Let us watch all through the season
For gifts to Jesus we would give, we’ll put them in His stocking
And know that He still lives.

Loving Ourselves
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:3-4
